GREAT AMERICAN TEACHING PROFESSIONAL – MICHEAL CARSON

After eight years in China’s business world, Micheal Carson (USGTF Level III, 2009) used the USGTF certification path to launch a new career in the developing golf industry in China. Shortly after certification, he became the director of instruction at Binhai Golf Club in Shanghai. Less than one year later in January 2011, Micheal became the operations general manager of Shanghai Orient Golf Club in Shanghai, and currently manages 150 staff, including caddies, at the 18-hole facility.

Micheal has had an interest in China since 1994 and has lived there full time since 2002. He has worked in professional management, external affairs coordination, and HR consulting. He is fluent in Mandarin, and is able to instruct golfers of all ages and abilities. While teaching all aspects of the full swing, Micheal enjoys teaching the short game and putting and helping students break through their scoring and mental barriers.

Micheal was certified in South Carolina under the direction of Mark Harman and is currently active with the USGTF in China. Micheal welcomes contact via his website at www.chinagolfcoach.com.
