If you Google the name “Jimmy Walker,” the first thing that pops up is the comedian best known as J.J. on the 1970s-era hit “Good Times.” However, another Jimmy Walker does appear quite prominently on the first page, and that is the professional golfer who has won four times in the past 15 months on the US tour.

Walker turned professional in 2001 at the age of 22 after attending Baylor University. However, success came slowly with middling play until 2011, when he put together a solid season and followed it up with good 2012 and 2013 campaigns. He finally broke through with a victory at the Frys.com Open in October 2013, and since then he has been one of the world’s top players. He made the Ryder Cup team for the first time in 2014, and is a good shot to make the 2015 President’s Cup team.

Walker and his wife, Erin, have two sons and live in Boerne, Texas, just north of San Antonio.
