USGTF Sponsored Event

In recognition of the history of our game, the USGTF is proud to present and sponsor the third annual United States Professional Hickory Championship on Monday, January 21, at Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club in Temple Terrace, Florida, a suburb of Tampa.  All golf professionals are eligible to play. Temple Terrace G & CC is a 1922 Tom Bendelow design, and was the site of the 1925 Florida Open, where participants included Gene Sarazen and Walter Hagen.

The entry fee is $100 with a total purse of $5,000 and $1,500 to the winner.  Clubs will be made available at no additional cost to all participants, and a practice round and practice session will be held on Sunday, January 20. If you’ve never played hickory golf, you’re in for a real treat.  For more information, please visit, or contact tournament director Mike Stevens at
